About Billy
Billy Briggs is a lifelong Washington County resident and a proud product of the local public school system, having attended Daniel Boone High School and Northeast State Community College. Growing up here shaped his belief that strong schools, responsible leadership, and a sense of community are what make our county a great place to live.
With over 16 years of experience in business operations management, including five years as an operations consultant, Billy has built a career focused on efficiency, accountability, and delivering results. He understands how to evaluate challenges, manage resources responsibly, and make decisions that serve the long-term interests of the community.
Billy is running for County Commission in District 8 because he believes local government should be responsive, transparent, and focused on the people it serves. He has seen how decisions about zoning, education, and growth impact both families and the future of the county, and he is committed to ensuring those decisions are made thoughtfully and fairly.
His priorities include supporting strong public schools, encouraging smart and balanced growth, and maintaining a county government that is accountable to its residents. Billy believes progress should be practical, fiscally responsible, and beneficial to the entire community—not just a select few.
Billy has been happily married to his spouse, Cory, for seven years, and is committed to helping build a strong and stable future for the community they call home.
